Refund and Rescheduling Policy for Certification Examinations and Continuing Professional Education Programmes

Applicability: This policy applies to certification examinations, remote proctored examinations, Continuing Professional Education (CPE) programmes, eCPE programmes, and any other form of certification from the School of Certification of Intermediaries.

A. Test Center Based Certification Examinations

• Fees Refund Conditions:
  • Fees are non-refundable except under the following circumstances:
    • Candidate’s account/card was debited but enrollment was unsuccessful.
    • Multiple deductions of fees from the candidate’s account.
    • NISM or test administrator is unable to offer examination/CPE programme/eCPE programme for any technical reason, and rescheduling is not suitable.
  • Note: Transaction charges incurred by the candidate will not be refunded.
• Rescheduling Policy:
  • Candidates can reschedule their scheduled examination via NISM’s portal four days prior to the examination date.
  • Rescheduling may be offered in certain cases, such as:
    • Significant/prolonged disruption of internet/power at the test center.
    • Non-availability of NISM’s examination application due to maintenance.
    • Inability of NISM or the test administrator to conduct examinations due to natural disasters, law and order situations, etc.

B. Classroom Based Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programmes

• Fees Refund Conditions:
  • Fees are non-refundable except under the following circumstances:
    • Candidate’s account/card was debited but enrollment was unsuccessful.
    • Multiple deductions of fees from the candidate’s account.
    • NISM is unable to offer CPE programme for any technical reason, and rescheduling is not suitable.
  • Note: Transaction charges incurred by the candidate will not be refunded.
• Rescheduling Policy:
  • Candidates can reschedule their enrollment for a CPE programme via NISM Certification Portal four days prior to the CPE programme date.
  • Rescheduling may be offered in cases of:
    • Inability of NISM or CPE service provider to conduct the programme due to natural disasters, law and order situations, etc.
    • Cancellation of the CPE programme by NISM or the service provider.

C. Online Continuing Professional Education (eCPE) Programmes

• Fees Refund Conditions:
  • Fees are non-refundable except under the following circumstances:
    • Candidate’s account/card was debited but enrollment was unsuccessful.
    • Multiple deductions of fees from the candidate’s account.
    • NISM is unable to offer the eCPE programme for any technical reason, and rescheduling is not suitable.
  • Note: Transaction charges incurred by the candidate will not be refunded.
• Rescheduling Policy:
  • Candidates can reschedule their enrollment for an eCPE course via NISM Certification Portal four days prior to the scheduled date.
  • A one-time reschedule may be offered if candidates face continued power/internet disruptions, provided they request this within three days after the eCPE session. Failure to request within this timeframe results in no reschedule or refund.
  • Rescheduling may also be offered in case of cancellation of an eCPE programme by NISM.

General Policies

• Limitation on Rescheduling:
  • Rescheduling of examinations/CPE programmes/eCPE programmes is limited to two instances.
• Change of Examination Module:
  • Requests to change the examination/CPE/eCPE module will not be accommodated. Candidates must choose their modules carefully.
• Forfeiture of Fees:
  • If a candidate does not attend the examination (test center-based or remote proctored), CPE programme, or eCPE programme on the scheduled date, the fees paid will be forfeited. Refund or rescheduling requests will not be entertained in this case.
